Wavin Osma Self Sealing Waste Valve
Where you need to prevent foul sewer gases from entering a building, HepᵥO can be used as an alternative to conventional water traps. As it doesn’t rely on trapped water to create a seal, HepvO can't fail due to evaporation, movement or siphonage
HepᵥO System Overview
When to use
Where you need to prevent foul sewer gases from entering a building, HepᵥO can be installed as an alternative to conventional water traps. HepᵥO is suitable for use on sanitary appliances (e.g. wash handbasins, kitchen sinks, showers), and can also be installed on discharge pipework from unvented domestic hot water systems and condensate lines from boilers and airconditioning units. HepvO also allows the admittance of air into the waste system and can also replace the need for AAV’s in branch ventilation. See product guide for more information .
HepᵥO is widely exported around Europe and countries such as US, Australia and Japan. HepᵥO currently holds a number of product approvals in those countries in which it is sold. The innovative nature of the HepᵥO waterless valve makes is suitable for use as a problem solver, for instance in hot countries where water traps are prone to drying out or in recreational vehicles, where water traps are prone to losing their seal.
How it works
HepᵥO is different to traditional water traps as it uses a soft silicone rubber membrane to create a seal, instead of “trapped” water. The self-sealing valve opens under the water pressure of an appliance emptying, and closes to form a tight seal after the appliance has discharged under normal atmospheric conditions.
Space Saving
The space saving in-line design makes HepvO easy to install in confined spaces making it ideal for pedestals, shower units, baths and under kitchen sinks. HepᵥO can be installed vertically or horizontally by using the 90° adaptor.
Range
HepᵥO is available in 1 ¼” and 1 ½” dimensions. HepᵥO joints are compression type. Running adaptors and knuckle bends are available as part of the system.
