Introducing the latest bio-circular solutions
Environmentally responsible construction materials are important, and we’re always looking for new ways to design and manufacture materials. As part of this, we’re proud to introduce our latest range of low-carbon, bio-circular products.
High-quality, low-carbon building materials
We’ve introduced bio-based polymers to various product suites within our solutions portfolio to create this new offering. Unlike traditional construction materials which rely on fossil fuels, these bio-circular / bio-based solutions are manufactured using renewable materials derived from waste streams originating from plants, vegetable oils and grass.
This manufacturing process significantly reduces CO2 emissions, helping to drive down construction projects’ Scope 3 emissions, while still delivering the high quality and durability that’s essential to optimal performance and longevity.
Verified foundations to protect the environment
Our latest bio-based solutions are certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) and adhere to strict standards of sustainability, ethical practices and human rights. This certification, along with the application of mass balance reporting, means we can guarantee a more than 75% CO2 reduction through our bio-based solutions (depending on the polymer type).
A comprehensive range of environmentally friendly products
Ultimately, we intend to employ the highest levels of sustainability in all our solutions, and we’re committed to offering comprehensive, low-carbon construction materials across as many of our ranges as possible. Our latest launch of bio-based solutions includes products that meet various construction needs, such as:
the Wavin Apollo PVC drinking water pipes,
the Wavin Ventiza air distribution system,
bio-based PE-RT underfloor heating pipes, and
PE pressure pipes for drinking water distribution.
What’s more, we’re already working on expanding this bio-based offering. As Ronald Bal, Global Manager of Sustainability - Circular Economy at Orbia Building & Infrastructure (Wavin) states: "The push for sustainability is urgent; we need alternatives that lower fossil fuel and raw material use. Despite the hurdles, bio-circular materials stand out as a superior choice today, and we’re committed to evolving these solutions further".
Build greater sustainability into your next construction project
These bio-based solutions are part of our drive to minimise ecological footprints and champion circularity within construction.
