Better building performance

We enable an efficient building process through BIM and prefabrication. And we are increasing comfort through energy-efficient heating, cooling, ventilation and noise reduction.

    Better Building Performance

When starting a new project, it can be challenging to account for every need. And as projects progress, changes often come. Specifications may change, and restraints such as time, cost and sourcing quality products can lead to inferior installations. Unfortunately, many of today’s buildings fail to deliver on their expected performance.

What if you could better predict building performance throughout the value chain? Through improved digital modelling, we can predict time and resource needs throughout the building process, improve product design and provide lasting solutions for better urban living.

    Our perspective

How we achieve better construction performance

Improved building performance includes efficient construction processes and increased comfort for users. Wavin facilitates this through BIM (Building Information Modelling) and prefabrication of solutions such as room-specific underfloor heating. In addition, Wavin offers increased comfort through energy-efficient heating, cooling, ventilation and noise reduction.

    Realization of building performance

    BIM: designed for practice.
Current modeling tools can sometimes produce unrealistic designs, such as pipes at impractical angles. This leads to last-minute changes, errors, delays and cost overruns. Wavin BIM with integrated intelligent assistance provides a 100% accurate installation model of piping systems, preventing these problems.

    Underfloor heating for energy efficiency

Buildings are responsible for 40% of global energy consumption. Underfloor heating offers an energy-efficient solution that combines comfort with efficiency. It distributes heat more evenly, reduces energy consumption and optimises the energy performance of a building.

The people who make it possible

The role of architects in delivering innovative, sustainable building solutions is more important than ever. Architectural firm DoepelStrijkers, founded by Duzan Doepel and Eline Strijkers, designs environments that support human resilience, health and well-being, while reducing energy and CO2 consumption using life cycle cost analysis.

A striking project by DoepelStrijkers is the Dutch Windwheel in Rotterdam. This innovative building functions as a vertical solar park and wind machine for sustainable energy generation and storage. Duzan Doepel explains: "The circular water system collects rainwater for irrigation and toilet flushing, and extracts heat and nutrients from wastewater. The smart facade provides a passive energy zone for natural ventilation."
