New Tegra 600 LC (low carbon)
Wavin launches the new Tegra 600 Low Carbon: A game-changer in sustainable sewer infrastructure
Wavin, a global leader in water management and building solutions, has officially launched the next-generation Tegra 600 LC (Low Carbon) inspection chamber – setting a new benchmark in sustainability, performance, and installation ease for underground infrastructure projects around the world.
A future-ready innovation for global infrastructure
With urban environments under increasing pressure to become more sustainable and resilient, Wavin’s latest innovation is a step forward in supporting future-ready sewer systems. The Wavin Tegra 600 LC builds on over 20 years of proven performance and was the first industrial plastic inspection chamber on the market. Today, the new Tegra 600 LC adds a strong focus on circularity and low-carbon design.
The new Tegra 600 LC supports future-ready infrastructure. Designed to last 100 years, it delivers long-term performance with significantly lower environmental impact thanks to a smarter design. Its carbon footprint (Co2e emissions) is reduced by 45% to 70% (depending on configuration), where up to 70% recycled materials are used, and up to 50% lower energy consumption during manufacturing is achieved. Last but not least, the product is 100% recyclable.
For engineers, contractors, and municipalities, this translates into a high-performing solution that meets the increasing requirements of ESG goals, public tenders (lower EPD), and sustainable building standards worldwide.
Low-carbon construction market
“The Wavin Tegra 600 LC isn’t just an upgrade – it’s a rethink of what an inspection chamber can be in a low-carbon construction market. It’s lighter, stronger, easier to install and more sustainable,” said Jan van Rompay, Global Sustainability Director at Wavin, an Orbia business.
Designed for efficiency and circularity
The Wavin Tegra 600 LC’s benefits during the installation phase includes:
- A 20% lighter base, enabling easier handling and faster, safer installation on site.
- A newly patented flex adapter, offering 30% more flexibility to handle misalignments and soil movement.
- A symmetrical seal, eliminating incorrect installations and ensuring watertight connections.
- A dedicated DN110 chamber, designed for smaller sewer network configurations with high performance in compact setups.
All of this means fewer installation errors and reduced maintenance costs.
State-of-the-art production in Hardenberg
To meet growing demand across Europe and beyond, Wavin has established a new, modern production line for the Wavin Tegra 600 LC at its advanced manufacturing site in Hardenberg, the Netherlands. This state-of-the-art facility integrates high-volume injection molding and automated processes to increase capacity.
On June 26 2025, the new line was officially inaugurated by Alwin te Rietstap, municipal executive responsible for economy, mobility, and agriculture in Hardenberg – a symbolic moment marking Wavin’s leadership in sustainable infrastructure manufacturing. The Hardenberg site also supports Wavin’s climate goals by using renewable energy and low-waste production systems, contributing further to the company’s circular economy strategy.
Production location Hardenberg
“With this new facility, we’re not only scaling production – we’re scaling impact. Hardenberg is a central hub for sustainable innovation in infrastructure,” said Mark Vlok, Global Product Manager Infrastructure at Wavin, an Orbia business.
